Accessibility on florianhiess.com
Explaining accessibility transparently.
florianhiess.com aims to be accessible to as many people as possible. The implementation target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
On 9 October 2026, all 56 German and English content pages were checked automatically with axe-core. The check reported no automatically detected violations. Key workflows were also checked with the keyboard, along with layouts on narrow screens.
This does not yet demonstrate full conformity with WCAG 2.2 AA. Automated tests detect only some possible barriers. Outstanding checks and known limitations are listed on this page.
This English text is a translation of the German accessibility statement. The German version is authoritative.
What was checked and how
The automated check used axe-core 4.13.0 in Chrome. It covered 56 German and English content pages and rules for WCAG 2 A/AA, 2.1 A/AA and 2.2 AA.
Manual checks covered opening and closing the menu, the AI dialog including focus management, the skip link to the main content and FAQ accordions. These workflows could be operated with the keyboard.
The layout was checked on all 56 pages at a width of 320 CSS pixels, and on representative pages at 390, 768, 1200, 1390 and 1920 pixels. No horizontal page overflow occurred.
Local Lighthouse checks on the homepage, an article and Contact in both languages each achieved 100 points in Accessibility. This is an additional automated score, not a full conformity assessment.
A comprehensive review with screen readers, forced contrast colours and different magnification settings is still outstanding. The checks were carried out with Codex during website creation. Florian Hieß is the professional contact for the website.
Implemented measures
The website uses semantic regions, main navigation and a skip link to the content. Keyboard focus is visibly highlighted. Dialogs and FAQ accordions use native HTML elements.
Form fields have visible, associated labels. Required and optional information is identified. Errors from the prepared sending route are shown as text associated with the affected field; a sending confirmation is issued only after successful acceptance by the mail server.
The layout adapts to narrow screens. Images have dimensions and appropriate alternative text; decorative images and symbols are hidden accordingly. Motion respects the reduced-motion setting.
Small H1 kickers and large first H2 headings are connected through a coherent heading structure. Visual size does not replace semantic meaning.
Known limitations
The Calendly embed is an external service. Its complete booking process and operation with different assistive tools have not yet been comprehensively reviewed. Alternatives include the Direct booking page, email and phone.
AI and Google services opened through external links are also outside this website. Local operation of the AI dialog was checked; the destination providers' accessibility may differ.
Contact form delivery is prepared but has not yet been tested in production through the webspace's mail service. Until that test is completed, email and phone remain reliable alternative contact options.
The outstanding screen-reader and magnification checks may reveal further limitations. Feedback helps identify and resolve specific barriers.

Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions about accessibility
10 questions on this topic.
How can I report a barrier?
You can report a barrier by email to hallo@florianhiess.at or by phone using the number available on this legal page. If possible, name the affected page and action that does not work. Your device and assistive tool are helpful additional details if you wish to provide them. The message is handled according to this website's actual privacy process.
Which checks were carried out?
On 9 October 2026, all 56 German and English content pages were checked with axe-core; no automated violations were detected. The menu, AI dialog, skip link and FAQs were also checked with the keyboard, along with narrow layouts. Lighthouse complemented the assessment on three page types in both languages. A full screen-reader and manual conformity review is still outstanding.
Is there an alternative way to book an appointment?
You can Open the booking page directly at Calendly. Email at hallo@florianhiess.at and phone using the number available on this legal page are also available. Accessibility of the external booking service has not yet been comprehensively reviewed; these contact options provide an alternative to the embedded widget.
When is this statement updated?
The documented date is 9 October 2026. The statement is updated when further checks are completed, functions change or an identified barrier is resolved. New results are described with their actual scope. Automated scores must be distinguished from a full manual conformity assessment.
Which accessibility standard is the project target?
The target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Automated tests and checked keyboard workflows provide specific results towards it. They do not yet demonstrate full conformity. Comprehensive manual review with screen readers and further user settings remains outstanding. Known limitations are described in the relevant section.
Can I operate the website with the keyboard?
The menu, AI dialog, skip link to the main content and FAQ accordions were checked with the keyboard. Opening, closing and focus management worked in the tested workflows. External services such as Calendly need separate assessment. If another process does not work, report it with the affected URL.
How are magnification and small-screen use checked?
All 56 pages were checked at 320 CSS pixels wide. Representative pages were additionally checked at 390, 768, 1200, 1390 and 1920 pixels; no horizontal page overflow occurred. This does not replace a complete assessment of browser zoom and text enlargement. Further magnification and assistive-tool checks remain outstanding.
What limitations can external widgets have?
Calendly may use its own interactions, focus changes and labels. The full booking process has not yet been tested here with different assistive tools. The direct booking link, email and phone therefore remain available as alternatives. A positive result for this website is not extended to the external service.
Which details help with a barrier report?
The affected URL and a description of the intended action help with a barrier report. Add what actually happened or which information is missing. You may name your device and assistive tool for context. You do not need a technical diagnosis; a clear observation provides a basis for further assessment.
How are accessibility changes made verifiable?
The statement names the check date, tested pages and methods, along with remaining limitations. After relevant changes, affected workflows are checked again and results updated. Feedback can provide a specific basis for this. The statement relates to florianhiess.com and does not adopt test results from another website.
